Visually, the mycelial network beneath our feet has the shape and structure resembling the neural network of our brain – and the network structure of the Internet.

 

We now know according to research, the mycelial network “has a primitive intelligence with decision-making ability and memory.”

 

And in The Hidden Life of Trees, we also know that by sending electrical signals through the mycelial network underground, trees can learn, remember, and communicate with each other.

 

 

In short: Everything in life is connected, and life is connected in ways we previously did not understand.

The SECRET to finding hidden opportunity comes down to your ability to make previously un-made connections between seemingly un-related domains, ideas, and people in your life…

 

In other words, tapping into your own mycelial network.

 

 

Let me share EXAMPLE from my own life to demonstrate how this can unfold for you:

 

* In Issue [#016] – 10 Strategic Thoughts from my Recent World Travels, I shared my biggest takeaways from a private mastermind in Miami, FL hosted by Jeff Walker, at which I was invited to speak. I was also invited to speak at this same mastermind 10 years ago back in 2014.

 

* It was that mastermind in 2014 where I met Michelle Falzon, who has gone on to be one of my closest creative collaborators over the last decade. We’ve co-created dozens of programs together – from the ASK Method Masterclass to my book Choose – which have impacted tens of thousands of students.

 

* Last summer, my family and I traveled to Lisbon, Portugal. At the same time, Michelle was on a trip from her home in Australia to Europe with her husband Mark Falzon. They were passing through Lisbon for one day while we were in Portugal.  We arranged for our families to all get together, and I got the chance to meet Mark for the first time.

 

* Mark who is Co-Founder of M.A.D. (Make a Difference) Ventures, an Australian venture fund built around identifying sustainable, impact-driven companies, invited me to be his fund earlier this year as an ambassador and strategic advisor.

 

* Last week, the private event where I met filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg was hosted by Yanik Silver, who happens to be building an impact fund in the United States similar to MAD Ventures. We’re now exploring how to potentially cross-pollinate and collaborate…
